Our Story
Established in Saint Lucia in 2017, GID Services Inc. has grown from a local engineering consultancy into a specialist ground investigation practice with capabilities deployed across the Caribbean.
How GID Came to Be
GID Services Inc. began with a simple question: Why should the Caribbean have to look overseas for the specialist ground investigation capabilities its projects need?
After completing postgraduate training in Soil Mechanics and Engineering Seismology at Imperial College London, Dewayne Monrose returned home to Saint Lucia and saw a clear gap. The Eastern Caribbean faces complex ground conditions and significant seismic exposure, yet advanced in-situ testing remained limited. Projects often relied on conventional investigations with limited direct measurement of engineering parameters. Seismic site classes were often based on assumptions and specialist testing frequently required overseas contractors, adding cost and time.
GID was built to change that by building the capability here in the Caribbean.
Since then, the company has steadily invested in specialist equipment, technology and technical expertise, bringing CPT, DPSH, MASW and pile integrity testing together within one in-house team based in Saint Lucia.
That same idea continues to guide GID today: build the capability here, understand the ground better and give Caribbean projects the quality of information they deserve.
